About this event
In ancient Egyptian homes, people used special objects for comfort, joy, and protection. The likeness of Bes, a playful, lion-like protector and Egyptian deity would appear often. Connected to music, laughter, families, and children; he would often appear on ceramic vessels called Bes jars, which were used to hold water, medicines, and oils.
Visit the Egyptian galleries to discover how everyday containers were also expressive works of art—then design and sculpt your own clay vessel inspired by Bes! What special object, memory, or treasure will your jar hold?
Sunday FUNday is a free drop-in program for all families and includes admission to the galleries. Supplies available on a first come, first served basis.
Listed by Emory University (Trumba), gathered by the Dunwoody events calendar.
